Exporting Reports as PDF

The Export PDF button doesn't download a file — it opens your browser's print dialog. That surprises people the first time. Once you know the right settings, the output is clean and consistently formatted.

What you'll learn

  • Understand how the PDF export works (browser print dialog)
  • Configure your printer settings for a clean PDF output
  • Know what branding appears in exported reports

Step-by-step guide

01

How the export works

The Export PDF button triggers your browser's print dialog — the same one you'd use to print any webpage. Change the destination to Save as PDF (or Microsoft Print to PDF on Windows) and save the file.

This isn't a one-click download. The PDF is rendered by your browser, which means Chrome and Edge generally produce cleaner output than Firefox. If you're on Firefox and the layout looks off, switch browsers for the export.

Chrome or Edge generally produce the cleanest PDF output. If you're on Firefox and the layout looks off, try the same export in Chrome.

02

Recommended print settings

In the print dialog, use these settings for the best output:

Paper size: A4 or Letter
Margins: Default or Minimum
Background graphics: On (required to show brand colors)
Scale: 100%

If the report is cutting off content at the bottom of pages, try switching from 100% scale to 'Fit to page'.

03

What branding appears in the export

If you've set up your advisor profile with a logo, company name, and brand color, these appear in the PDF header. Your disclaimer text (if configured) appears in the footer.

If you haven't filled in your branding settings, the PDF will show blank spaces where the firm name and logo would be. Complete your Settings before exporting any client-facing documents.

04

Editing before export

The PDF captures the current state of the report — any sections you've edited will appear in their edited form. If you want to make changes before exporting, edit the relevant sections first and then click Export PDF.

Version history is maintained on the platform regardless of what you export. You can always go back to a previous version after exporting.
