What you'll learn

  • Set up your advisor profile so clients see your branding
  • Add a client and get a secure assessment link
  • Walk a client through the diagnostic questionnaire
  • Generate your first AI-assisted exit readiness report

Step-by-step guide

01

Complete your advisor profile first

Before you send anything to a client, take five minutes to fill out your Settings. At minimum, you need a company name and a contact email — these appear on the client-facing assessment flow. Logo, brand color, and disclaimer text are optional but worth adding before any real client interaction.

Go to Settings → Advisor Profile to set this up.

Skipping this step means clients see a blank company name in the assessment header. It looks unprofessional and sometimes makes clients think the link is spam.

02

Add your first client

Navigate to Clients → New Client. Fill in the basics: company name, owner name, owner email, industry, annual revenue range, employee count, and their target exit timeline.

In practice, most advisors fill this in right after the first prospect call — from memory, in a few minutes. None of these fields go to the client. They're for your records and to give the AI enough context to generate something relevant. If you're pressed for time, at minimum get the revenue range and target exit timeline right. Those two points shape the tone of the report more than anything else.

03

Generate and send the assessment link

Once the client is created, you'll land on their profile page. From there, generate a secure share link — a unique URL tied to that specific client and assessment.

Copy it and send it to your client however you normally communicate: email, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, it doesn't matter. The platform does not send it for you. You control when and how it goes out.

The client does not need to create an account.

Test the link yourself before sending it to a client. Open it in an incognito window to see exactly what your client sees.

04

Wait for the client to complete the questionnaire

Your client opens the link and works through the diagnostic questions — a structured set organized by dimension (financials, operations, legal readiness, and so on). Their answers are saved automatically, so they can stop and come back later.

You'll see the assessment status update on your dashboard as they progress: Pending → In Progress → Completed. Once it hits Completed, you're ready for the next step.

05

Generate your first report

Go to the client's profile page and open the report. Click Generate Report — this triggers the AI generation process. Expect the draft to be ready within a few minutes.

The report breaks into sections you can read, edit, and export as a PDF. You can also regenerate the full report or individual sections if the first draft needs work.

If you're on a Professional or Agency plan, the Auto-CIM generator and Synergy Radar are also available from the report page.
