Sending an Assessment Link to Your Client
The assessment link is the starting point for every engagement. Here's how it works and what to expect once your client receives it.
What you'll learn
- ✓Understand what the client sees when they open the link
- ✓Generate and copy the secure share link from the client page
- ✓Know what happens when a client completes the questionnaire
Step-by-step guide
What the assessment link actually is
Each client gets a unique, token-based URL. It's tied to that specific client and assessment only — no login required on their end.
That said, anyone who has the URL can complete the form. Treat it the way you'd treat any sensitive document: send it directly to the client, not to a shared inbox or group thread. The link doesn't expire by default. If the client finishes the assessment and you need a fresh start — say, their situation changed significantly — recreate the client record to get a new one.
The client does not need to sign up or create an account. They just open the link and start answering.
Generate the link from the client profile
From your dashboard, go to Clients and open the client you want to assess. You'll find the share link on the client detail page — click the copy button next to it.
There's no built-in email send button. You paste that link into whatever channel you use: email, LinkedIn message, Slack, WhatsApp. This is intentional — it keeps you in control of the message framing and timing.
If you accidentally share the link in a public channel, anyone with it can complete the assessment. Generate a new client record if that happens.
What happens after the client submits
The client works through the questions at their own pace. Answers are saved as they go — no risk of losing progress. When they hit Submit on the final question, the assessment status changes to Completed on your dashboard.
At that point, you'll see a Generate Report button on the client page. That's your signal to move to the next step: turning the assessment data into a report.
